As a member of the Portland Romance Writers author group, she has had short stories published in anthologies, and her debut novella, "Every Summer Since You" will be on shelves in July. She's a big fan of the "second chance" trope, and takes any opportunity she can get to spend time outside with her real-life book husband and their dog, Lando Calrissian.

Paula D. Ashe is an author of dark fiction. Her debut collection We Are Here to Hurt Each Other (Nictitating Books) was a Shirley Jackson Award winner for Single Author Collection and a Bram Stoker Award Finalist for Superior Achievement in a Fiction Collection. In 2024 she was awarded the Joseph S. Pulver Award (the bEastie!) at NecronomiCon Providence. She previously served as an associate editor for Vastarien: A Literary Journal and currently serves as an associate editor for the North Meridian Review. In 2026 Clash Books will release her first standalone novella, Transubstantiation Blues. She is represented by Lane Heymont of Tobias Literary Agency.
